Happy Valentines Day!
Okay, so I broke one of my rules, I weighed-in again today knowing that I was close yesterday to reaching my goal weight of 175 pounds. Sure enough, I reached it! Sixty lbs. gone in one year, 2/14/2011=235 lbs., 2/14/2012=175 lbs.! Checkout the new photos and I will post the new goals soon.

One Year
Day 365
Today represents the one year anniversary since starting the twinkie2diet. Weigh-in, 176 lbs., only one pound short of the goal. I should be there by next week. Today I will boost my food intake to 2200 kcals and continue with the plan, balance, consistency, and discipline. Once I reach the goal of 175, I will gradually add calories until I reach an equal balance. It's been a great year!

Week 52
Day 364
Tomorrow represents the one year anniversary of the beginning of the twinkie2diet. I am so thankful for the support of friends, students, family, and myself. God has given me a gift and I really want to do something with it! The goal of 175 lbs. has always been at the top of my list, but when I weigh-in tomorrow, it means so much more that that. I am confident that the rest of my life will represent a winding down of many things, but again, I want to go out swinging!

Week 52
Day 358
Last week of a one year journey and I weighed-in at 178 lbs., fifty-seven down, three pounds to go! I keep looking at the photo from last February and I just can't believe it, truly an amazing journey! As I wrap up the first year of the twinkie2diet, I am already planning ahead to next. I will begin outlining new goals soon.
I am in the process of deciding on several options of biking and running races. I am even thinking of getting back into the sport triathlon. I feel pretty good and the energy level hasn't been this high in years. Thanks to everyone for all your support and encouragement!

Week 51
Day 351
It doesn't seem possible that nearly a year has gone by since beginning the twinkie2diet. It's been quite a while between posts but I needed a break. Thanksgiving and Christmas went well, some ups and downs but all in all I have made progress. The adjustments I have made are on track with the original goal of losing 60 lbs., with the current objective of doing so in one year. I had to settle down in January and focus on the end results. I am basically in a kilocalorie counting phase and have limited myself to 2000 a day. Exercise has been outstanding, four day a week running, 45 minutes per. I began my fourth week of lifting today and I feel great! The next two weeks will be a challenge but it is my hope that once 175 lbs. is achieved, I can settle down into a consistent daily regimen of around 2300-2400 kcals. I'll keep you posted.

Week 38
Day 267
Weigh-in #37 178 lbs., kind of up and down the last two weeks but I'm back on track. Whenever family members come in from out of town (my daughter), or when I travel, it's difficult to balance out a regular feeding schedule. I'm still at 2200 kcals and will stay at this level until I reach the 175 lb. goal. Once that is accomplished, I will evaluate the menus and the exercise routine and estimate a new daily kilocalorie intake. I'm confident that I can maintain my new "lifestyle" but I need to be vigilant, I still enjoy food!
On an exercise note, running is going well. Four days a week, 45 minutes per run. I finally began a lifting program, but I've decided to put it off until after the new year. Between school and other responsibilities, I just don't have the time or energy for another challenge.
Friday is the IAHPERD Conference in Indy. I am completing a PowerPoint presentation and will post it to the blog when it is finished. The presentation will also be video recorded and I will also post that as well.

Week 36
Day 253
Weigh-in #35 178 lbs., fifty-seven down and three to go!!! Obviously things have settled down since returning form fall break. I dropped the daily kilocalorie count back to 2200 for the week and the adjustment of fluids, a regular schedule, and consistency have payed off. I will move back up to 2300 kcals for Week 36 and I began a lifting routine today as well. Hopefully I can reach the goal weight of 175 lbs. by November 11, the day I present at IAHPERD.
A new photo was taken today and is loaded in the photo section. It's amazing what some basic math, a little discipline, and loving support can do!
